My work is a physical confrontation with the canvas. Through heavy impasto and aggressive layering, I explore the tension between the masks we wear and the raw, unrefined emotions that leak out from underneath. I don't just want you to see the image; I want you to feel the weight of the paint and the gravity of the human experience
Using thick, 'dripping' textures and a Neo-Expressionist lens, I create portraits that exist in the space between the beautiful and the grotesque.
These pieces focus on the distortion of the self. By layering heavy mediums, I mimic the way we layer our own identities, often leaving 'cracks' or 'drips' where the true self resides. My goal is to capture the intensity of a single moment be it grief, joy, or the silent horror of being seen and make it tangible enough to touch.
